Raeghan Siemens DTCM, RAc., Doula
After attending the University of Alberta, Raeghan studied Chinese Medicine at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, BC. Compelled by Chinese medicine’s 2000-year-old history of treating woman’s reproductive disorders, Raeghan pursued postgraduate studies in obstetrics, gynaecology, sports medicine and facial rejuvenation with many world renowned specialists.
Raeghan has been in practice since 2003, where spent 10 years working at the leading natural fertility centre in Canada (Acubalance Wellness Centre) and is currently working at Living Wellness Centre. She is dedicated to treating all stages of women’s reproductive wellness, from enhancing fertility, through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. By working collaboratively with other health caregivers such as physicians, midwives and doulas Raeghan is able to provide the most comprehensive and effective care for her clients. She has also worked closely with the local fertility centres, using acupuncture to treat and support patients undergoing assisted reproductive techniques. Having completed her Doula training, Raeghan has had the opportunity to provide support for many pregnant and labouring women.
Raeghan has treated a variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. She uses traditional acupuncture and in some cases western-influenced acupuncture, specifically motor-point needling, to affect pain and create a better standard of living for her patients. She has studied under Matt Callison, the developer of Sports Medicine Acupuncture.
Raeghan also has a keen interest in the rejuvenating effects associated with acupuncture. Raeghan has studied under Virginia Doran, the leading expert in Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture.
Because of Raeghan’s dedication to obstetrical care, she has developed and is currently teaching the “Acupuncture for Pain Management in Labour” program for midwives.
Raeghan is the co- founder and board member of the Obstetrical Acupuncture Association (OBAA).
When not working, you can find Raeghan at the beach with her husband, Dave, and daughters, Ardyn and Natalia.
